Deri travelled to local side Pontllanfraith for a rearranged final league game on Saturday. In perfect rugby conditions Pont threw everything at the Deri try line in the first 10 mins, which Deri defended with real aggression and commitment
After weathering this storm Deri's forward started to win some quick clean ball, with the back row playing with real speed and working well together. This then enabled our young speedy backs a good platform to work off, which resulted in some nice try's being run in.
Second half Deri really started to play 15 man rugby with forwards and backs linking up superbly. Deri eventually running out windows 39-0.Credit must be given to Pont who stuck at the task in hand admirably.
Deri finished off their last 5 league games with bonus points victory and the side really started to gel which bodes well for the future.
We all went back to our club to finish off the season in a good old fashion rugby way
